When you’re investing in a new bathroom, choosing the right products is just as important as choosing the right design. A beautiful bathroom needs to work brilliantly every day, which is why quality, reliability and thoughtful design matter.
At The Bathroom Shop Taunton, we carefully select bathroom brands that combine style, practicality and dependable performance. From contemporary bathroom furniture and luxurious showers to stylish enclosures and modern wall panelling, our ranges can help you create a bathroom that looks fantastic and works perfectly for your home.
Our featured brands include Roper Rhodes, Kudos, Mira Showers and Nuance, giving you plenty of choice whether you’re planning a complete bathroom renovation, a new en-suite or simply upgrading part of your existing bathroom.
For homeowners looking for stylish bathroom furniture and products, Roper Rhodes offers an impressive combination of design and practicality.
With more than 40 years of experience designing and developing bathrooms, Roper Rhodes has become one of the UK’s leading suppliers of bathroom furniture and bathroom products.
From contemporary designs to more timeless looks, Roper Rhodes makes it possible to coordinate different elements of your bathroom and create a space that feels considered from top to bottom.
Good bathroom furniture isn’t simply about appearance. Storage, usability and making the best use of available space can make an enormous difference to how enjoyable your bathroom is to live with every day.
At The Bathroom Shop Taunton, we can help you explore the Roper Rhodes range and identify products that complement your room, style and budget.
A great shower enclosure can become one of the defining features of a bathroom.
Kudos has spent more than 20 years developing its reputation for high-quality showering products and is recognised as a leading independent UK shower enclosure manufacturer.
Its products are designed in-house and hand-built in its own factories, with products individually inspected before leaving the manufacturer.
Whether you’re creating a spacious walk-in shower, updating an en-suite or looking for an enclosure that makes clever use of the available space, the right shower enclosure can bring together practicality and contemporary design.
Pairing a quality enclosure with professional bathroom planning also helps ensure the proportions and layout work as well as the finished bathroom looks.
The shower is one of the hardest-working parts of many bathrooms, so performance and reliability are particularly important.
Mira Showers brings more than a century of expertise to shower design, combining product innovation with extensive experience in creating showering solutions.
Whether you’re replacing an existing shower or incorporating a new shower into a complete bathroom design, we’ll help you consider the practical details as well as the aesthetics.
That means thinking about your available space, water system, preferred showering experience and overall bathroom design to identify a solution that’s right for your home.
A well-designed shower isn’t just another bathroom fitting – it can make the morning routine easier and turn an everyday shower into something to look forward to.
Bathrooms need surfaces capable of coping with wet environments while still contributing to the overall design.
Nuance is an award-winning bathroom wall panel system designed for use in showers, wet rooms and around baths.
Bathroom wall panels can provide a striking alternative to more conventional finishes and work particularly well when you’re aiming for a clean, contemporary appearance.
With the right combination of wall finishes, furniture, sanitaryware and showering products, you can create a bathroom in which every element feels connected rather than selected individually.
Our team can show you how Nuance panels could work alongside your other bathroom choices and help you visualise the finished space.
One of the advantages of visiting an independent bathroom specialist is that you don’t have to select every product in isolation.
The real difference comes from choosing products that work together.
A Roper Rhodes furniture collection can establish the character of the room. A Kudos enclosure can create a standout showering area. Mira can provide the showering experience, while Nuance wall panels can give the wet area a distinctive finishing touch.
The result is a bathroom designed as one complete space.
Choosing products from photographs alone can be difficult. Colours, proportions, finishes and build quality are much easier to appreciate when you can see bathroom products in person.
That’s why we’d encourage you to visit The Bathroom Shop Taunton showroom at 4 Wood Street, Taunton.
You’ll be able to explore bathroom ideas and talk through your project with experienced professionals. With more than 25 years’ experience in bathroom design and installation, we can provide practical advice based on your particular room rather than simply selling you individual products.

An experienced bathroom designer can help identify the best solution for the available space.
Managing several different tradespeople can make a bathroom renovation complicated.
Choosing a company that can manage the project from beginning to end makes the process much simpler.

A bathroom renovation is one of the most rewarding improvements you can make to your home. Not only does it create a space you’ll use every day, but it can also increase your property’s appeal, improve energy efficiency and add lasting value.
Whether you’re modernising an outdated bathroom, creating a luxury ensuite or redesigning a practical family bathroom, careful planning makes all the difference.
If you’re considering a bathroom renovation in Taunton, this guide will walk you through everything you need to know before starting your project.
Bathrooms have become much more than functional rooms.
Today’s homeowners want spaces that are:
Many Somerset homes have bathrooms that were installed 15–30 years ago. Older suites often suffer from dated designs, poor layouts, inadequate storage and inefficient plumbing.
A professionally designed renovation can completely transform the room while making better use of every inch of available space.
One of the biggest mistakes homeowners make is choosing products before deciding how they want the room to function.
Before selecting tiles, taps or furniture, ask yourself:
A well-planned layout often delivers a bigger improvement than simply replacing existing fixtures.
Professional bathroom designers can also identify opportunities you may never have considered, such as repositioning sanitaryware, creating recessed storage or opening up smaller rooms.
Every home is different, which is why there is no single “perfect” bathroom.
Some of the most popular styles include:
Minimalist furniture, floating vanity units, large-format tiles and clean lines create a bright, modern appearance.
Perfect for:
Classic suites, elegant brassware and timeless colours suit period properties across Taunton and Somerset.
Ideal for:
Luxury bathrooms combine premium materials with comfort features such as:
The result is a spa-inspired retreat within your own home.
Busy households need practical solutions.
Good family bathroom design includes:
These features help keep the room organised while standing up to everyday use.
Not every bathroom has generous dimensions.
Fortunately, clever design can completely transform compact spaces.
Some popular space-saving ideas include:
Professional designers regularly create bathrooms that appear significantly larger without extending the room itself.
Storage is often overlooked until the renovation is complete.
Built-in storage helps reduce clutter and creates a cleaner, more relaxing environment.
Popular options include:
Planning storage from the outset ensures everything has its place.
Bathrooms are used every day, making quality one of the most important considerations.
Investing in premium products usually means:
Although budget products can seem attractive initially, quality fixtures often prove to be better value over the long term.
Lighting has one of the biggest impacts on the finished room.
A successful bathroom usually combines:
Perfect around mirrors for shaving and applying makeup.
Creates a relaxing atmosphere.
Highlights design features and adds luxury.
Combining these layers creates a bathroom that works throughout the day and evening.
Even the most beautiful bathroom can quickly develop mould or condensation problems without proper ventilation.
A professionally designed renovation should always consider:
Good ventilation helps protect your investment for years to come.
Every project is different, so costs vary depending on:
Rather than focusing purely on the lowest quote, consider the overall value offered.
An experienced installer can often save money by preventing costly mistakes and ensuring the work is completed correctly the first time.
While online inspiration is useful, nothing replaces seeing products in person.
A showroom allows you to:
It’s also much easier to visualise how products work together before committing to a purchase.
Managing multiple contractors can quickly become stressful.
Working with a company that handles the entire project provides several advantages:
From initial design through to the final installation, every stage is carefully planned to deliver a smooth experience.
Choosing a local bathroom specialist means working with professionals who understand Somerset homes.
Whether your property is a modern development, a traditional cottage or a period townhouse, local experience can make a significant difference to the finished result.

Whether you’re redesigning a small cloakroom or refitting a family bathroom, careful planning makes all the difference. Here’s a step‑by‑step approach:
A renovation can solve multiple issues — space constraints, outdated fixtures, or lack of storage. Decide early whether your focus is:
Maximising functionality
Adding luxury touches
Increasing property value
Improving accessibility
Accurate dimensions are essential before selecting products like toilets, showers or vanities. The Bathroom Shop’s design team can help plan the layout so everything fits optimally.
Bathrooms are increasingly treated as personal sanctuaries. Popular 2026 trends in bathroom design include spa‑inspired themes, earthy natural materials, and bold colour accents to create a statement look.
Good design isn’t just aesthetic — it’s practical. Consider storage needs, movement flow, ventilation and lighting when planning placement of fixtures.
If moving plumbing fixtures or altering layout, allow extra time and budget for this work. Hiring experienced installers like the team at The Bathroom Shop ensures that plumbing and waterproofing are done correctly.
Here’s a look at some inspiring design directions that homeowners are embracing this year:
More homeowners are creating spa‑like bathrooms with rainfall showerheads, freestanding baths and soothing neutral palettes. This trend emphasises relaxation and comfort, making your bathroom a true escape.
Warm tones like terracotta, muted greens and natural stone finishes are stepping in for all‑white schemes, creating warmth and depth in the space.
Sustainable design elements — from low‑flow taps to recycled tiles and bamboo accents — not only look great but help reduce environmental impact.
LED lighting, demister mirrors and temperature‑controlled showers add convenience and modern flair to any renovation.
Floating vanities, built‑in shelves and hidden storage help keep bathrooms clutter‑free — especially important in small spaces.
At The Bathroom Shop Taunton you’ll find a wide range of bathroom products to suit many styles, sizes and budgets. Here’s a snapshot of what’s on offer:
Stylish vanities in contemporary and traditional designs

Here are some practical tips to make your renovation smoother:
Before choosing products, determine where key elements will sit — shower, bath, WC and basin. A well‑planned layout enhances usability and helps avoid costly mistakes.
Use layered lighting: task lighting around mirrors, ambient lighting for general illumination and accent lighting to add warmth and dimension.
Shelving, tall cabinets and niches keep essentials accessible without crowding the floor area.
High‑quality fixtures may cost more upfront but last longer and look better. They also often offer better warranties.
Good ventilation prevents mould and keeps your bathroom feeling fresh — an essential factor in long‑term satisfaction.
